Financial Accountant

MCS Group is seeking an experienced Interim Purchase Ledger Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be based in Belfast City Centre and will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger for several group companies.
Key Responsibilities:- Posting a large volume of purchase invoices in multiple currencies (Dollar, Euro, GBP)
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Processing payments via Bacs, TTs, and online banking
- Liaising with suppliers and internal staff regarding invoices, payments, and new accounts
- Completing period-end processes and ensuring the ledger agrees with the nominal ledger
- General ledger posting of ad hoc journals and agreeing and posting contras between sales and purchase ledger
- Processing staff expenses, including coding, recording mileage, and checking receipts
- Maintenance of various cash books and bank reconciliations
- Preparation of reports for month-end reporting and other ad hoc reports on Microsoft Excel
- IATI qualification (desirable)
- Previous experience in purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general ledger (3-5 years)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
- Good organisational and communication skills
