Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to join our ACS Team in Sutton Weaver. As a key member of our project engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting significant client demand and strategic partnerships for our AutoCoding portfolio. Your day-to-day duties will include management of customer communications, leadership of project activity and planning, managing supplier relationships, and assessment of team skills and training needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Onboard new projects and ensure efficient day-to-day project operation.
  2. Create and communicate project plans to customers and the engineering team.
  3. Work with the new planning function to enable delegation of day-to-day duties.
  4. Recruit a replacement field-based engineer.
  5. Take accountability for the engineering team and ensure quality standards and safe working practices are upheld.
  6. Manage key supplier relationships and supply chain requirements.
  7. Hold reviews with engineers to identify growth opportunities and address issues.
  8. Collaborate with various teams in AutoCoding to understand new business initiatives.
  9. Lead projects directly at site level to enable skills and knowledge transfer.
  10. Escalate customer challenges on projects.
  11. Monitor budgets and discuss variances.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience managing service/project teams.
  2. Hands-on project management experience.
  3. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  4. NVQ Level 3 in a relevant electrical discipline.
  5. Demonstrated mechanical skills.
  6. Strong appetite to learn and use software systems.
  7. End user and project team training skills.
  8. Full UK passport and UK driving license.
Desirable Skills
  1. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL tools.
  2. Experience with industrial devices and communication protocols.
  3. Project management philosophies such as Prince2, Agile.
  4. PLC skills: Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens.
  5. TCP/IP networks and features.
  6. Vision devices such as Sick, Cognex, Omron.
  7. Another language - German, Spanish, French.
