About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients in our Acute Adult Inpatient Unit, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive assessments and interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and mental abilities, identifying areas for improvement and developing personalized plans to enhance their occupational performance.
  • Develop and implement effective interventions to promote patients' independence, safety, and well-being, working in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide expert guidance and supervision to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Diploma/BSC (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • State registration with the Health Professionals Council.
  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Proven experience in mental health settings, with a strong understanding of current best practices and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
