Job Summary:

VGS Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to join our team. As a Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for providing independent inspection and quality control services relating to equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site-based inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide detailed reports following inspections and quality control activities.
  • Review fabrication and manufacturing documentation to ensure adherence to quality plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Welding Engineer or Inspector, with 5 years of experience in equipment inspections (NDT and material control).
  • SC clearance or eligibility for SC clearance (must have been residing and working in the UK for the last 5 years).
  • C&G Cert or HNC/BTEC in an Engineering discipline.
  • PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II certification.
  • Strong understanding of Materials, Welding, and NDE techniques.
  • Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high-hazard industries or COMAH sites.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive hourly rate of £38.50 (outside IR35 and following SC clearance).
  • A site-based role with a average 45-55 hour working week.
  • Travel time paid up to 5 hours per week.
  • Overtime rates.
  • Overnight accommodation allowance.
  • A long-term contract work (minimum 12 months and rolling).
