About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Psychiatry of Learning Disability to join our team at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Community Mental Health Team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and treatment of patients with mental health problems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior medical staff, ensuring they operate within the parameters of the New Deal and Working Time Directive.
  • Participate in service and business planning activities, contributing to the development of our mental health services.
  • Attend and participate in academic programs, including lectures and seminars, to enhance your professional development and contribute to the Trust's CPD program.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Experience of the full range of clinical responsibilities expected of a consultant in general Adult psychiatry
  • Experience of working with service users who have complex needs within Adult psychiatry
  • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
