About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Capital Modelling to join our team at Everest Advisors (UK), Ltd. As a key member of our actuarial function, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our capital modelling framework, ensuring it meets the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of our internal capital model, ensuring it is aligned with Lloyd's best practice requirements and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with our actuarial team to provide quantitative inputs to the ORSA process and ad-hoc stress and scenario analysis.
- Coordinate and support the annual independent validation of our capital model.
- Embed the internal capital model within the business and use it for business decision-making, including reinsurance program design and underwriting.
- Support the Syndicate Chief Actuary in producing the actuarial function report.
- Develop and comply with appropriate controls over model inputs, parameters, judgments, and outputs.
- Ensure best practice and compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Qualified Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or similar.
- Significant Lloyd's internal capital model and governance experience.
- Proven management capabilities of capital teams and wider stakeholders (internal and external).
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Maths, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a similar field.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent IT skills, MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, Power BI, and ResQ.
- Internal capital model and Lloyd's best practice requirements.
- Standard formula modelling.
- Excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to simply communicate modelling process and results with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and through reports or presentations.
- Ability to prioritise and rationalise capital model strategic initiatives, informed by detailed knowledge and support network.
- A flexible and enthusiastic approach to work with a strong appetite to network, learn, and develop.
