We are seeking a highly skilled Ecologist to join our team at Penguin Recruitment. As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in supporting our clients with a range of ecology services, including protected species surveys, mitigation projects, and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct protected species surveys and coordinate mitigation projects to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Advise clients on regulatory requirements and prepare EIA reports to support project development.
- Lead a team of ecologists to deliver cost-effective project solutions and ensure high-quality report drafting.
- Play a key role in business development by preparing costings, tendering for projects, and identifying opportunities for growth and diversification.
- A relevant degree and 3+ years of professional experience in ecology.
- Strong knowledge of UK and European environmental legislation.
- Proven experience in fieldwork and report writing.
- Full membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM and a full UK driving licence.
- Holding a Natural England protected species licence (e.g., Bat Class 2 or GCN Class 1).
- Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
This is a permanent role with a competitive salary based on experience. We offer flexible working hours, 26 days annual leave, and a fun, supportive work environment with regular socials and volunteering days.
