A forward-thinking accountancy practice in Royston is seeking a Financial Operations Manager to oversee the preparation of client accounts, tax, PAYE or VAT based work and identify opportunities for partner discussion and additional services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and previous experience in managing teams, including supporting trainees and ensuring high-quality outputs.

The estimated salary for this role is £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

  • Manage the preparation of client accounts, tax, PAYE or VAT based work
  • Identify opportunities for partner discussion and additional services
  • Oversee the finalisation of paperwork for dispatch to clients and HMRC
  • Ensure effective tax planning through interpretation of tax returns and financial accounts
  • Manage job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets
  • Provide coaching and support to trainees
  • Manage bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, supplier maintenance, and management accounts
  • Prepare client tax returns and advise on tax payable and payment dates
  • Assist clients with accounts software and bookkeeping queries
  • Completion of overtime as required and attendance at relevant courses

Requirements:

  • ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Previous experience in managing teams
  • Strong background in accounting
