Literacy Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Male Reader Volunteer. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of others by providing reading support to individuals with learning disabilities and sight loss.

This is an excellent chance for someone who enjoys reading and has a passion for helping people to develop new skills and build confidence in their abilities.

As a volunteer reader, you will be responsible for visiting our service in Sittingbourne and engaging with our clients through reading activities. Your role will involve bringing stories to life, being energetic and charismatic, and using your communication skills to build strong relationships with our service users.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, be punctual and reliable, and have a good sense of humour. You will also be required to undergo DBS checks and safeguarding training before commencing your role.
