About the Role

We are seeking a committed and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Acute Day Service Team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver group and individual therapeutic interventions to patients under the direction of an occupational therapist.
  • Use psychosocial, occupational, and practical interventions to promote patient recovery and wellbeing goals.
  • Provide relational support and understanding of patient experiences in a non-judgmental and personalized way.
  • Facilitate groups and activities to promote patient engagement and participation.
  • Work collaboratively with the occupational therapist and multidisciplinary team to develop evidence-based groups and interventions.

Requirements

  • Healthcare or relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent skills.
  • Significant work experience in health/social care/teaching setting.
  • Prior experience working with people with mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of facilitating groups and a range of activities.
