Job Opportunity: Interim Litigation Lawyer

Contract Type: Contractual Services

Hours: 35-37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, normal working hours

Role Duration: 3-4 months

Location: Darlington area

Triumph Consultants Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Interim Litigation Lawyer to join our team. As a key member of our Litigation Team, you will deliver legal services to the Council and external clients in relation to civil litigation.

  1. Provide a comprehensive legal service on all aspects of civil litigation, including debt recovery, housing disrepair claims, and employment law matters.
  2. Offer strategic and proactive civil litigation advisory and consultancy services to the Council and external clients, including undertaking legal research as required.
  3. Investigate complaints of alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct by Elected Members.
  4. Support the Principal Lawyer with the management of the team, including supporting and developing colleagues, demonstrating duties, instructing, and checking the work of others.

Requirements:

  1. A qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with a current practising certificate and rights of audience.
  2. Working knowledge/practical experience of dealing with civil litigation.
  3. Experience of interpreting legislation, case law, policy, or procedures to give recommendations/advice.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, members, external organisations, and the public, providing advice in accurate spoken English.
  5. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft packages or equivalent.
