Job Title: Sales Director

Novo Executive Search is seeking a highly skilled Sales Director to join our client, a leading supplier of engineered machines, parts, and accessories to service engineering companies and end users.

About the Company:

Our client is a successful business with a strong brand, targeting significant growth over the next 5 years. The company plans to double in size over the next 3-5 years, while also exploring opportunities to expand into new markets.

About the Role:

The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and delivering the growth strategy, in line with business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and delivering the sales and marketing strategy to double the size of the business.
  2. Creating annual sales and marketing plans, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure goals are met.
  3. Establishing and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders, negotiating major deals, overseeing pricing strategies, sales forecasting, customer acquisition, and retention.
  4. Communicating market intelligence to the marketing team to facilitate development of marketing campaigns to promote products and services and to enhance the company's brand and image.
  5. Aligning sales activity with the marketing team to maximize sales and marketing opportunities and ensure consistent messaging throughout all campaign activity.
  6. Providing strong leadership and establishing credibility as a leader, successfully delivering the sales and marketing strategy, ensuring targets for growth and profitability are met or exceeded.
  7. Building, leading, and inspiring a high-performing team, ensuring effective recruitment, training, and development strategies are in place.
  8. Devising and implementing demanding targets for both sales and customer service teams to improve market share, profit margin, and customer satisfaction measures, without compromising quality.
  9. Having a strong commercial background in a B2B sales and distribution business.
  10. Having 5-10 years of sales and marketing leadership experience within a comparably sized sales and distribution business.
  11. Having a strong commercial leader with P&L experience, with a demonstrable track record of growing and developing businesses.
  12. Having exceptional skills in communication, motivation, and interpersonal relations, and able to convey a message that is understandable and relevant, linking business issues, financial results, and strategy.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial background in a B2B sales and distribution business, with 5-10 years of sales and marketing leadership experience within a comparably sized sales and distribution business. They will have a strong commercial leader with P&L experience, with a demonstrable track record of growing and developing businesses. The candidate will also have exceptional skills in communication, motivation, and interpersonal relations, and be able to convey a message that is understandable and relevant, linking business issues, financial results, and strategy.
