Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Attorney to join our in-house legal team at South East Water.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating NEC contracts, providing commercially-minded legal advice on construction projects, and collaborating with engineering, procurement, and project teams.

You will also advise the business on applicable law and regulations, support the Head of Legal, and contribute to delivering large-scale construction and commercial contracts.

Requirements:
  • A qualified lawyer in England and Wales with a proven track record in drafting and negotiating construction contracts, preferably within the utilities or energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of regulated contracts and experience working on complex projects with the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and balance competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of approximately £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
