About the Role

West Midlands Trains is seeking a highly skilled Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team in Birmingham. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving process excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across our fleet.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. You will work closely with our operations teams to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to optimize our processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess current processes and procedures to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  2. Develop and implement lean methodologies and CI Core Tools to streamline workflows.
  3. Gather and analyze data related to key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress and identify trends.
  4. Present data-driven recommendations to management for process enhancements.
  5. Lead and manage continuous improvement projects from initiation through completion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in a continuous improvement or process optimization role.
