At Howdens, we're seeking a skilled Facilities Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Raunds Campus in Northamptonshire. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing site contractors and ensuring facilities compliance with legislation, codes, and standards.

As a Facilities Electrical Engineer, you'll possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in supervising multi-disciplinary teams, including maintenance, grounds, and contract workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure facilities comply with all legislation, codes, and standards related to security, safety, health, and environmental management.
  • Develop and implement contractor control engineering and maintenance procedures, adhering to safety, technical, legislative, and group standards.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
  • Calculate and compare costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed on site for contractor control and permit-to-work management.
  • Support the Facilities Manager in managing projects and process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering qualification is essential.
  • Experience in an engineering maintenance role, involving control and coordination of contractors across sites in different areas.
  • Knowledge of technical and environmental legislation and processes.
  • Proficiency in Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
