About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for producing subcontract documentation, managing subcontract works packages, and ensuring timely change management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms and conditions, prices, and programme.
  • Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments of the amount due and subsequent change management.
  • Produce and issue all commercial notices, to both the Client and Subcontractors, as required by the form of contract.
  • Manage change in a timely manner in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations.
  • Produce, submit, and agree monthly applications, to the Client, in accordance with the form of contract.
  • Liaise with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records are kept to the standard required.
  • Produce and maintain a detailed 'Cost to Complete', tracking and forecasting expenditure, including detailed schedules of Subcontractor 'liabilities' and use of Oracle based cost analyses.
  • Interpret and critically evaluate expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems.
  • Completion of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines.
  • Attending weekly progress and early warning meetings with the client and subcontractors.
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor with a sound knowledge of the NEC Conditions of Contract. You will have a professional qualification (HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent and excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle, Unifier).

You will have experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, exposure on large single or multiple smaller schemes, and a strong understanding of standard forms of contract. You will also have excellent stakeholder management and communication capabilities, good time management skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
