About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Carrier Operations Manager to join our team at Screwfix Direct Limited. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with our final-mile delivery partners to ensure we deliver the best possible service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Delivery Management: Accountable for the service delivery of all Screwfix Parcel Carrier and Courier partners, ensuring a market-leading service experience for Screwfix customers.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Responsible for developing and maintaining reporting to provide the business with a clear view of service performance and trends.
  • Issue Resolution: Ensuring day-to-day ad-hoc service issues are swiftly understood, managed, and communicated across the business.
  • Continuous Improvement: Accountable for developing, maintaining, and delivering a Continuous Improvement programme with all partners to drive service excellence.
  • Internal Development: Identifying internal development opportunities that improve delivery services, and creating and presenting rounded business cases to senior team members.
  • Change Management: Working with our 3PL stakeholders to implement change projects into the fulfilment centre.
  • Cost Optimization: Ensuring carriage costs are optimized, and balanced with service.
  • Process Management: Ensuring robust processes, checks, and measures are in place between the 3pl and Carriers to support efficient parcel fulfilment.
  • Project Management: Business owner for the delivery of carrier-related development projects.
  • Contract Management: Supporting with Carrier tendering and contract management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to maintain good working relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders at all levels within delivery partners, fulfilment centres, and the Screwfix business.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experienced in working in e-com customer fulfilment, preferably within a large FMCG retailer.
  • Relationship Management: Proven experience of managing relationships with multiple service providers, and driving them to deliver the highest standards.
  • Results-Oriented: A proven track record of high performance through delivering results, and achieving targets.
  • Innovation: Able to demonstrate the delivery of innovation and continuous improvement for the end customer.
  • Technical Skills: A competent user of excel, able to interpret data to reach conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Software Knowledge: Familiar with the functionality and use of CMS software to manage carrier integrations and parcel outputs.
  • High-Pressure Environment: Experience of working in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment.
