Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance professional to join our team of Financial Controllers in Birmingham or Milton Keynes. As a Financial Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our reported financial position. Your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of the month-end close process for designated Business Areas, ensuring all deadlines and/or reporting requirements are met.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with technical accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 15 revenue recognition) and internal control frameworks. You will provide guidance and support to embed best practices within daily operations and lead and continuously improve assigned key financial control processes and standards, ensuring alignment with best practices and promoting consistency.

You will proactively identify, investigate, and resolve balance sheet discrepancies and accounting issues. You will challenge business assumptions and provide recommendations to strengthen the robustness and accuracy of financial reporting. Additionally, you will take a lead on Balance Sheet reporting, reconciliations, and issue resolution.

As a key point of contact on all financial control matters, you will develop trust and build strong relationships with practitioners. You will assess and mitigate financial risk to promote a risk intelligent culture.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified Finance professional with a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). You should have a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in your work. Ability to work calmly and efficiently under deadline pressures, e.g. month end, year-end, is essential. Strong technical, problem-solving, and analytical skills are also required.

Able to work cross-functionally in a team environment as well as work independently with self-direction, experience in a financial controller role or similar is preferred but not essential. Experience of working in a professional services organisation is also preferred but not essential. Ability to build collaborative working relationships with stakeholders is crucial.

Benefits

As a Deloitte LLP employee, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including a competitive salary, flexible working arrangements, and opportunities for professional development and growth. We offer a hybrid working policy, allowing you to work from home, in our offices, or at client sites, depending on the requirements of your role.
