We are seeking a highly qualified part-time adjunct faculty member to teach day and/or evening classes for the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Job Summary

This is a part-time, non-tenure track position teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in mechanical engineering or a related field, with significant practical experience in the relevant area. Prior teaching experience at the college level is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach from established curriculum with addition of personal expertise and experience
  • Provide students with timely feedback and grading
  • Identify engineering courses they may be qualified to teach based on WPI course catalog

Requirements and Qualifications

  • PhD in related discipline preferred; master's degree in related discipline required
  • Experience with online teaching and Canvas learning management system preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, all employees at Worcester Polytechnic Institute are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as access to tuition remission and other employee perks.
