Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Chartered Tax Advisor to join our team at TPF Recruitment.

Our client is a leading accountancy practice based in Brighton, seeking a Tax Manager to join their team. As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in advising clients on tax matters and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Liaise and correspond with HMRC in respect of clearance applications, enquiries, and other tax-related matters.
  2. Draft reports and letters of advice for tax advisory issues.
  3. Prepare calculations to support advice and ensure accuracy.
  4. Liaise with clients and attend meetings with other team members to discuss tax-related matters.
  5. Train and review the work of more junior members of staff.
  6. Provide support to Directors and Partners in the Tax Advisory Group.
  7. Examples of work you would assist the team with include:
    1. Advice and implementation of corporate reconstructions, investor reliefs, and staff incentive schemes.
    2. Advising owner-managed businesses on remuneration planning, succession planning, and tax compliance.
    3. Preparation of research & development claims, VAT returns, and SDLT returns.
    4. Advising individuals on IHT planning and CGT mitigation.
    5. Reviewing corporate tax computations and returns.

Requirements:

  1. Candidates must be CTA qualified or have equivalent qualifications such as AAT or ACA/ACCA.
  2. Experience with corporate taxes is essential, and experience in other areas of tax is beneficial.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts to clients.
  4. Good IT skills, with proficiency in tax software and systems.
  5. Excellent teamwork and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve tax issues.
  7. A keen interest in learning and developing tax knowledge, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
