Job Title: Construction Management Specialist - Tiling and Stonework
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Management Specialist to join our team at Mitchell Maguire. The ideal candidate will have experience in tiling and stonework projects, with a strong focus on quantity surveying and construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate tiling and stonework projects from start to finish.
- Prepare and review tender documents, including electronic taking off quantities.
- Measure and carry out take-offs from drawings/specifications, applying rates, calculating, and completing pricing schedules.
- Keep up to date with site progress through Operations Manager, Site/Project Managers, recording progress made, and transferring information onto monthly payment applications.
- Pricing variations and changes in line with subcontractor parameters.
- Dealing with subcontract applications and negotiating subcontractor prices.
- Updating any changes to the agreed contract scope.
- Keeping track of application figures and ensuring relevant departments are aware of potential budget or financial constraints.
- Building strong working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in quantity surveying and construction management within the UK construction market sector.
- Ideal experience within the flooring, tiling, or fitout market sector.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels, both written and verbal.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office).
- Strong numerical and negotiation skills.
- High levels of organisation and attention to detail.
- Presentable, humble, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
