Senior Legal Advisor - UK Qualified Solicitor with Funds Expertise

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Advisor to join the UK division of a Global Asset Manager. As a UK qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years' experience gained in Funds or Asset Management, you will be responsible for ensuring effective management of all legal matters and providing strategic legal advice across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal guidance and support to the organisation on a variety of matters, including investment transactions, strategic projects, corporate governance, and legal regulatory compliance.
  • Advising on the structuring and formation of investment vehicles, including funds and SPVs.
  • Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting a wide range of commercial agreements, including client agreements, data-related contracts, supplier contracts, non-disclosure agreements, employment contracts, and enterprise/corporate partnership agreements.
  • Identifying legal risks associated with the business operations, products, and services and developing and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks, including contracts, intellectual property, data privacy, cybersecurity, and third-party management.
  • Overseeing and/or supporting third-party management, including selection, due diligence, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance evaluation.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on complex legal issues affecting the company's business practices or operations and providing clear and practical advice to stakeholders, keeping them informed about legal developments and their potential impact on the business.
  • Reviewing and advising on legal and regulatory filings, including offering memoranda, prospectuses, and regulatory filings.
  • Liaising with external legal counsel on complex legal matters.
  • Developing and managing relationships with external law firms and ensuring that any external legal resource is appropriate for the advice sought and cost-effective.

You must be a UK qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years' experience gained in Funds or Asset Management. While a basic understanding of UK regulation as applicable in an Investment Manager is required, especially when reviewing mandates, your broader legal experience and ability to interact with senior management and influence external stakeholders on legal matters that impact the UK business will be crucial.
