About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Cost Analyst to join our team at Verdant Recruitment Ltd. As a Commercial Estimating Specialist, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for construction projects by reviewing and analysing drawings, specifications, and other tender documentation.
  • Provide detailed cost breakdowns for materials, labour, plant, and subcontractors, ensuring all aspects of the project are thoroughly considered.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and assess the cost-effectiveness of various options.
  • Identify potential risks and incorporate appropriate contingencies to account for any uncertainties in the project scope.
  • Attend site visits when required to gather additional information and clarify project scope, contributing to more accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure all project requirements are understood and reflected in the estimates.
Requirements:
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, ideally with a focus on Education and Commercial construction projects.
  • Experience using estimation software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is desirable for occasional site visits.
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
