- Embed employability and employer engagement activities into our programmes, ensuring our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the industry.
- Support community and personal enrichment activities, including trips related to learning, to enhance the student experience.
- Prepare schemes of learning, lesson plans, assignment schedules, and learning materials for curriculum delivery, ensuring they are engaging and effective.
- Actively promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion, and health and safety in all aspects of college life.
- Mark students' work with developmental feedback, providing constructive guidance to help them improve.
- Report student progress, ensuring that students receive regular feedback and support.
- Participate in curriculum development activities, contributing to the design and delivery of our programmes.
- Participate in the recruitment of students and the student admissions process, helping to attract and select the best candidates for our programmes.
- Represent the College at internal and external events and meetings, promoting our programmes and services.
- Participate in all aspects of the College's quality process, ensuring that our programmes meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.
- Internal verification, ensuring that our programmes are delivered to the highest standards.
- Continually maintain, undertake, and meet any relevant CPD requirements, ensuring that your skills and knowledge are up-to-date and relevant to the industry.
- Liaise with parents and guardians, providing them with regular updates on their child's progress.
- NVQ level 2 or Craft certificate in Carpentry and Joinery.
- Maths and English at Level 2 equivalent or willing to work towards.
- 1st fix, 2nd fix, and cut roof/trusses.
- 5 years minimum industry experience in Carpentry and Joinery.
- Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in the field(s) of expertise.
- Communication skills, including written and verbal.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Attendance at college events, including open evenings, outside of normal working hours.
- 39.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Up to 4 days leave during the Christmas closure period.
