Holtec International, a leading global supplier of equipment and systems for the energy industry, is seeking a highly motivated Nuclear Fuel Engineer to join its team.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the development and licensing of the SMR-160 small modular reactor, a passive, natural circulation, integral light water reactor designed to provide clean and safe energy.

As a Nuclear Fuel Engineer, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical expertise to develop, manage and implement nuclear fuels engineering analysis, activities and programs.

You will design, modeling, and analyses of the nuclear core and fuel system that involve the use of engineering computer codes, empirical methods, and first principle methods.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of PC applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and general knowledge of nuclear fuels and power plant operations/physics.

We are looking for candidates with a BS in Nuclear Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, or closely related field) from an accredited college or university, 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in the nuclear industry or similarly applicable, and demonstrated experience and proficiency with nuclear fuel performance or structural analysis software.

In addition to the required qualifications, we welcome candidates with a MS in nuclear engineering with emphasis on fuel mechanics and reactor physics, 5+ years of experience in the nuclear industry, and comprehensive knowledge of NUREG-0800 (NRC Standard Review Plan for LWRs) Chapter 4 and 15 requirements.
