About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our team at Synnovis Analytics, specializing in genomics and genetic testing. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic services, developing new tests, and contributing to the growth and development of our genetics service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex genetic testing and analysis, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, and other specialized techniques.
  • Develop and implement new tests and services, working closely with our technical and clinical teams.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our genetics service, including participation in multidisciplinary teams and collaboration with other pathology disciplines.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on genetic testing and interpretation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in genomics and genetic testing, applying this knowledge to improve our services and stay ahead of the curve.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist (or working towards registration).
  • Advanced degree in a relevant biological science (e.g., genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry).
  • Proven experience in a diagnostic genetics laboratory, with a strong background in genomics and genetic testing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
