United Living Group is seeking a highly skilled SHE Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our delivery team, you will play a crucial role in driving health, safety, and environmental performance across our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Support projects in delivering our Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy, ensuring managers assume full responsibility for their activities.
- Provide Health, Safety, and Environmental input into the tender and contract award process.
- Act as a single point of contact for Health & Safety advice and expertise to project teams, ensuring effective Construction Phase Plans.
- Provide environmental and sustainability guidance to meet our targets, metrics, and net zero drivers.
- Support and undertake accident/incident investigations to establish root causes and communicate learning points.
- Challenge existing working methods to incorporate Health, Safety, and Environmental good practice without compromising business priorities.
- Contribute to a safe and secure culture through behaviour-based coaching at all levels within the project.
- Liaise with the wider construction industry to share and implement lessons learned.
- Coordinate, develop, and maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders, the HSE, Local Authorities, EA, and SEPA.
- Have an in-depth knowledge and provide expert advice on CDM regulation requirements for gas projects.
- Provide support and guidance to ensure project representatives are aware of their SHE roles and responsibilities in line with National Grids/Cadent/SGN QMS.
- Undertake reviews of Fastflow/contractor documentation, participate in site safety meetings, H&S Audits, and Sensible Monitoring Inspections on gas projects.
- Provide independent H&S audit capability to the delivery teams for a portfolio of projects.
- Ensure suitable controls and processes are in place for the development and ongoing management of the CDM Risk Register and monitoring of the suitability and effectiveness of the Contractor's temporary works inspections on gas projects.
- Assist project team representatives with the review of contractor's competence and identification of training needs.
- Provide monthly H&S data and safety stats to line management as needed.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced SHE Advisor who can demonstrate:
- Good inter-personal skills with proven skills in coaching and motivating people.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all organisational levels.
- Ability to recommend preventative action, develop new initiatives, and coordinate or ensure their implementation.
- Ability to develop and deliver training/briefing material in an innovative, enjoyable, but effective way.
- Demonstrates determination to achieve business goals despite opposition and displays personal commitment.
- NEBOSH Certificate and considerable relevant construction SHE & Gas industry experience.
- Knowledge and experience of Environmental management requirements.
- Current full UK driving license.
- EUSR Cross Country Pipelines / SHEA Gas.
