About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our cross-functional squad at ClearScore. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for driving the squad's success and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet or exceed business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Squad: Line manage a team of cross-functional engineers, taking ownership of hiring, onboarding, and driving personal growth and development.
  • Set Engineering Strategy: Develop and implement the engineering strategy for the squad, leveraging knowledge of modern agile practices to drive effective delivery of outputs and outcomes.
  • Coordinate Communication: Lead communication with stakeholders from different teams, enabling engineers to focus on optimal performance.
  • Drive Squad Effectiveness: Hold the squad accountable for execution and delivery of value to users and partners, ensuring continual improvement of squad effectiveness.
  • Shape Company-Wide Best Practices: Collaborate with the broader engineering team to participate in shaping company-wide managerial and technical best practices and standards.
  • Foster a High-Functioning Team Dynamic: Develop a culture of psychological safety and foster a high-functioning team dynamic with common goals and collaborative work across functions.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience managing high-performing teams of up to 7 engineers, fostering a culture of psychological safety.
  • Technical Expertise: Expert understanding of modern agile practices, with a continuous improvement mindset and robust technical and operational knowledge of the latest industry technologies and best practices.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate openly and deliver feedback to people at different levels.
  • Business Acumen: Proven experience in delivering high-quality solutions that meet or exceed business requirements, with a strong emphasis on production readiness, robustness, and operational excellence.
