About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Genetics Research Associate to join our comprehensive Genetics Service at the South East Genomic Laboratory Hub (SEGLH) based at Guy's Hospital.

">

The successful candidate will be appointed to a joint role between the Monogenics and the Preimplantation Genetic Testing of Monogenic disorders (PGT-M) team.

Job Responsibilities

">
  • To work as part of an MDT comprised of Genetic Counsellors, Assisted Conception doctors, nurses, and embryologists.">
  • To undertake a range of duties including SNP and STR linkage and Sanger sequencing analysis.">
  • To contribute to service development and participate in RCPath training and examinations.">

About the Team

The Genetics laboratories are part of Synnovis and are located within the Guy's Hospital site.

">

The Genetics department is made up of over 120 staff with close links to Clinical Services throughout Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTfT) and St George's Hospital Foundation Trust.

About You

">

You will have good communication skills, be able to take initiative, support continual quality improvement, and prioritise workload.

">

The estimated salary for this position is £45,000-£55,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
