We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Engineer to support our regional Development Team in Cardiff, focusing on civil engineering for development infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and produce designs and drawings for construction projects
  • Deliver technical reports for masterplanning and in support of planning applications
  • Take financial responsibility for projects and ensure delivery to budget, programme, and technical standards
  • Work on varied multi-disciplinary projects and client accounts, liaising with clients at a local and national level
  • Assist in the preparation of fee proposals and involvement in business development activities
  • Maintain a positive working environment in the team

Preferably a Civil Engineering degree and either be Chartered or approaching Chartered status with experience in highway and highway drainage design. Strong post graduate experience in a civil engineering working environment.

The ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, write reports to support planning applications, design calculations, and construction drawings. A solid engineering foundation and an understanding of highway design and highway drainage principles (layout, etc.). Experience in using Civils 3D or PDS (or similar software packages) together with experience in applying Highways England/DMRB and Local Authority design guidance.

Experience in design of drainage using InfoDrainage and a background in Water Company related work inclusive of the relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, DMRB, and Local Authority Design Guides, and to be well versed in the preparation of drawings for Contract Documents and requisite technical agreements.
