About the Role:

As an Employment Counsel at Wise, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic advice on employment and employment law-related issues. This includes working closely with our People and Legal teams globally to provide guidance on recruitment, payroll and tax, compensation and benefits, and people operations.

You will draft and advise on employment-related agreements and policies globally, such as employment agreements and offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements and codes of conduct. Additionally, you will advise, partner and liaise with various internal stakeholders to develop processes for common employee-related issues, and drive other employment-related projects and initiatives.

This role will give you the opportunity to take ownership and autonomy in your work, with the support of a smart and curious team. You will be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice on employment and employment law-related issues
  • Draft and advise on employment-related agreements and policies
  • Advise, partner and liaise with internal stakeholders to develop processes and drive projects
  • Work closely with the Employee Relations team on contentious employment matters

Requirements:

  • UK-qualified employment lawyer with 2 to 4 years PQE
  • Ability to navigate difficult issues and multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate legal advice in a succinct and pragmatic way
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving
