Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our team at Sushi Haven in providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As a Server, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding guest services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. You will play a key role in our restaurant's success by effectively managing your time and upselling menu items to enhance the dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, providing them with menus and information about daily specials.
  2. Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all dietary requirements are noted.
  3. Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
  4. Assist with food preparation as needed, adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  5. Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
  6. Ensure that tables are clean, organised, and set up for the next guests.
  7. Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, providing solutions to ensure a positive dining experience.
  8. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality control of dishes served.
  9. Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to provide informed recommendations to guests.

Requirements

  1. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
  2. Strong guest service skills with a passion for providing excellent hospitality.
  3. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and processing payments accurately.
  4. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  5. Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously.
  6. A good understanding of food safety practices is advantageous but can be taught on the job.
