Tax Investigations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Investigations Senior Manager to join our team at Forvis Mazars. As a key member of our Tax Dispute Resolution team, you will play a critical role in managing HMRC investigations and disclosures, working closely with our Partners, Directors, and tax team to ensure the smooth running of these processes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage HMRC investigations under COP 9, COP 8, Cross Tax enquiries, NMW enquiries, and technical disputes, working closely with the Tax Dispute Resolution team.
- Collaborate with Partners, Directors, and the wider tax team to ensure the effective management of HMRC investigations and disclosures.
- Prepare investigation and disclosure reports, including computational aspects, for submission to HMRC FIS, working directly with senior team members.
- Deal directly with clients, contacts, and other parties to ensure work is completed to the desired timescales, including attending meetings with HMRC in person or online.
- Manage and develop more junior members of the TDR team, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Support senior staff in the negotiation of settlements with HMRC.
- Support and manage the team's graduates, passing on knowledge and expertise in HMRC dispute management.
- Assist with billing and collection for clients in their portfolio.
- Draft and contribute to media posts and blogs.
- Build a network of professional and business contacts to identify new work opportunities for the team.
- Act as an ambassador for the firm, participating in marketing events and staying up-to-date on the firm's services and products.
- ATT/CTA qualified or relevant work experience.
- Report writing and tax computational experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, preferred.
- At least 5 years' experience in tax enquiries, investigations, and voluntary disclosures to HMRC.
