Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our team at BAE Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a complex site move project, relocating multiple systems at multiple classifications to a number of new locations.
  • Collaborate with a mixed team including project and programme management, business analysis, IM&T governance, IM&T operations, information security, physical security, site operations, and others.
  • Review and analyse the as-is architectural landscape to make recommendations about future location options and design.
  • Produce designs and documentation with a focus on infrastructure (hosting and networks), considering application landscape, user locations, and supportability.
  • Identify existing obsolescence and availability risks and make recommendations on mitigations.
  • Submit documentation for review according to the IM&T assurance processes.
  • Make recommendations on transition approaches to minimise downtime and user impact while optimising costs.
  • Support project and programme management in producing plans and business cases, managing risks and issues, and developing cost models.
  • Support other projects within the IM&T portfolio as directed by the IM&T Chief Architect.

Requirements

  • Solution- Infrastructure- Network- and Hosting-architecture expertise.
  • Data centre design including power, network cabling, rack layout, network design, high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Cisco networks, Palo Alto, VMWare, and classified systems and accreditation.
  • TEMPEST designs.
