Job Title: Lead Compositor

Framestore is seeking a highly skilled Lead Compositor to join our team in London. As a key member of our Integrated Advertising Division, you will be responsible for leading a team of compositors and working closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and CG Supervisors to deliver high-end visual effects for TV and film productions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate creative and technical approaches to assigned shots in collaboration with the Head of 2D and Visual Effects Supervisor
  • Provide briefs and direction to the team with the aid of VFX Supervisors to ensure the appropriate execution of shots
  • Train and mentor junior artists
  • Integrate 2D, 3D, and live-action elements to high-end visual effects TV/film standard
  • Meet schedules and show deadlines
  • Communicate with Production and the team regarding schedules and deadlines
  • Take responsibility for the team's workload, time management, and notes/feedback actions required by Supervisors
  • Balance creative and technical aspects of each shot
  • Work with a good knowledge of colour space principles
Essential Skills:
  • Excellent working knowledge of and production experience with Nuke
  • Experience in a similar position within Episodic or film VFX
  • Familiarity with stereo compositing and working with multiple render passes
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a team
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Pro-active and collaborative work ethic
  • Strong eye for detail, composition, colour, and lighting
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and problem-solve
  • Understanding of colour space principles
  • Working knowledge of the overall VFX pipeline
Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of practical lighting for photography
  • Experience in dealing and communicating with clients
  • Programming and coding experience and knowledge
  • Experience working on episodic/long-form projects
  • On-set experience
