Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Specialist Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who are unable to access mainstream education.
The OpportunityWe are looking for a passionate and inspirational tutor to support children and young people with SEN in the Pinner area. Many children with SEN have become disengaged with their learning, and we aim to re-engage them in their education.
As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will create, plan, and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and boost attainment levels. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way.
Your primary goal will be to support and re-engage a pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine, continue their educational development, and ultimately return to school.
The tuition is a replacement for school for these young people and is typically part-time, taking place during school hours, five days a week.
We will work closely with you to monitor the progression of each pupil by requesting weekly reports.
Contract DetailsLocation: Various locations across Pinner
Position: SEND Specialist Tutor
Type of work: Contract
Start date: ASAP
Duration: Until the pupil is able to reintegrate into a mainstream/special school
Contract type: Temporary
Full-time/part-time: Part-time (normally a minimum of 5 hours per week, per student)
Minimum rate of pay: £25 per hour
Hours: Working hours can vary, depending on the convenient timings of the family
RequirementsTo be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references
