Weston College is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Lecturer in Barbering to join our team at HMP The Verne.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality education to our students.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a comprehensive curriculum in Barbering, ensuring students receive a high-quality education.
- Prepare, assess, and mark student work, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Develop and maintain a thorough course file, including a comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.
- Create and complete Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and contextual statements to monitor student progress.
- A degree or professional qualification relevant to the field of Barbering.
- A recognized Teaching Qualification or willingness to obtain one within the first two years of service.
- Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
- Excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills.
HMP The Verne is a Category C men's prison on the Isle of Portland in Dorset, prioritizing education through partnerships with Weston College and the Open University.
