Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our Engineering team at our East Midlands office. This is a hybrid working role, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects through their design phases, ensuring cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are delivered in line with stakeholder requirements and programme expectations.
  • Ensure excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying with relevant local specifications, codes, rules, regulations, and requirements.
  • Manage the Design team, driving efficiency and managing overall outturn costs for design.
  • Organise all elements of design, documenting it in the Design Management Plan and preparing monthly status update reports.
  • Attend and contribute to all relevant programme, project, and technical meetings.
  • Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages.
  • Ensure all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience of multi-disciplinary design management in a design-build environment.
  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.
  • Delivery-driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
  • Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment.
