You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, as well as implementing preventative maintenance programs for new equipment and systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repair

Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency.

Troubleshooting and Repair

Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, minimizing downtime and maintaining business continuity.

Preventative Maintenance

Develop and implement maintenance schedules for new equipment and systems, reducing the risk of breakdowns and extending their lifespan.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, protecting employees and visitors alike.

Relationship Management

Build and maintain relationships with external contractors and vendors, negotiating rates and services that meet our needs.

Documentation and Reporting

Accurately record all maintenance activities, repairs, and issues, providing valuable insights for future improvements.

Requirements

  • Engineering Qualifications

A degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is essential for this role.

Industrial Experience

You should have at least 5 years of experience in industrial or commercial facility maintenance, with a strong understanding of modern building systems.

Educational Requirements

A certification in Electrical Testing (e.g., City & Guilds 2391) and experience in racking repairs and testing are highly desirable.

Skill Set

Strong knowledge of modern building systems, excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in CMMS are necessary for success in this role.

Driving License

A valid UK driving license and own vehicle are required for site visits and emergency responses.

Work Schedule

  • Regular Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00, with a 37.5-hour workweek.

Out-of-Hours Call-Outs

Carefully managed occasional out-of-hours call-outs and emergency responses are anticipated (less than 5/year).

  • Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, with occasional site visits and travel to surrounding areas.

Available to Start

The ideal candidate should be available to start in early December 2024.
