About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Housing Officer to join our team at Karter Thomas Ltd. As a Housing Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our social housing services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular tenancy home visits and tenancy audits to ensure compliance with our policies and procedures.
- Provide expert advice to tenants on tenancy matters, including assignment, succession, and sub-letting.
- Investigate cases of suspected abandonment or sub-letting and produce detailed reports.
- Monitor and make recommendations on the successful completion, extension, or termination of starter/probationary tenancies.
- Collaborate with local authorities, police, and other stakeholders to resolve anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues.
- Ensure void targets are met, including turnaround times, turnover rates, costs, and customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with local authorities to ensure timely and appropriate provision of nominees.
- Visit prospective tenants in their homes to assess their housing circumstances and eligibility for social housing.
- Carry out accompanied viewings of void properties, prepare new tenancy packs, and administer tenancy sign-up processes.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working in a similar role within social housing.
- Access to your own transport.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
