About the Job

We are recruiting for a SEND Learning Support Assistant to work in one of our SEND Schools in Caerphilly. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support worker to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and/or social, emotional, and mental health needs. They will also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Job Description:

This is a full-time position working 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday. You will be required to start ASAP and may have the opportunity to work part-time if desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering lessons and implementing IEPs
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with ALN and/or SEMH needs
  • Assist with creating a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues

Requirements:

  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • EWC registered as a School Learning Support Worker
  • Strong understanding of ALN and/or SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
