Job Purpose:

As a skilled Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair of buildings, making good after heating system installations, and ensuring that all works are conducted professionally and responsibly on behalf of our client.

You will work in line with codes of practice, company procedures, and stipulations to deliver a high-quality service to the client and their customers.

Duties:
  • Maintain job time frames and standards of the company by working efficiently and safely with a high-quality finish.
  • Deliver a high-quality service to the client and their customers, having respect for all individuals and meeting the challenges presented.
  • Carry out all works strictly in line with company procedures and industry standards, including code of practice and best practice.
  • Repair and minor works as and when required after installations or remedial works.
  • Assist installers with installations and making good.
  • Carry out bathroom refurbishment, including carpentry, tilling, painting, and minor plumbing works.
  • Order materials and manage own jobs to ensure fast resolution for the clients.
  • Clear each job from the handheld device and back-office system as they are completed.
  • Liaise with residents and clients as and when required about the works being undertaken.
  • Ensure all PPE is present and correct at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
  • Keep all appointments and inform clients' tenants/clients accordingly.
  • Carry out duties as required by any senior manager or member of staff representing such manager.
  • Stay up to date with all codes of practice involving your given discipline.
  • Report variations to any works and update the administration department of changes to requirements on site.
  • Engage and attend all staff briefings and company functions.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Liaise with all other engineers and staff to ensure targets are reached, organizing electrical works and plumbing works on any given installation.
  • Produce a certificate or job sheet for all works, any other reports or records required for the works.
  • Submit a valid and accurate timesheet, delivery notes, expenses, and any other documentation weekly.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • General competence in the given trade.
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent.
  • General experience in building maintenance, with a bias toward carpentry.
  • Punctuality, professionalism, flexibility, and working knowledge of Mobile PDA.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Experience of working within the Social Housing sector on installation projects and maintenance contracts.
  • Experience of working with residents and clients directly.
  • A clean UK driving license and DBS check will be required.
