Job Title: Accounting & Financial Reporting Advisory Assistant Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Financial Reporting Advisory Assistant Manager to join our team at RSM. As a key member of our growing financial reporting advisory national team, you will support the wider team and assist managers to profitably deliver work across a portfolio of corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support managers to deliver complex accountancy related projects for clients, including IFRS transition consultancy work and acquisition accounting and complex consolidations.
  • Develop and maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, and to fulfill the professional bodies' CPD requirements.
  • Act as a focal point of contact with clients, and communicate any problems or contentious issues identified to the manager or responsible partner.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and projects, including client care responsibilities, project management and WIP/billing management.
  • Liaise with other departments within the office, especially the audit and tax teams, to ensure that agreed deadlines are met and significant issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Act as a coach to more junior members of the team and participate in staff training and supervision as required.
Requirements:
  • ICAS or equivalent.
  • UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting experience.
  • Experience of working in a professional practice, ideally in an equivalent accounting advisory team or experience providing written accounting advice to clients.
  • A strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and to add value.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working with clients.
  • Experience of supervision of junior staff.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office, with high competency with both Excel and Word.
