The State of Ohio is seeking a highly skilled Intelligence Analyst to join our team at the Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center (ONIC). As a key member of our Public Safety Intelligence team, you will play a critical role in supporting law enforcement agencies and drug task forces by providing investigative and case support, as well as information-sharing networks.

  • Develop research tools, methods, and intelligence request forms to accommodate intelligence information
  • Analyze informational databases, spreadsheets, and reports to facilitate information exchange and understanding
  • Prepare intelligence reports, products, and briefings for presentation to public safety partners
  • Maintain association with and facilitate exchange of information between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and taskforces
  • Collect, research, and analyze intelligence information and other resources to determine patterns, trends, and movements of criminals
  • Coordinate research activities with other departmental units and/or outside agencies
  • Assist in reviewing and recommending intelligence/analytical related software and hardware equipment
  • Create sophisticated and/or complex criminal and narcotic-related policies
  • Formulate and implement plans, policies, and procedures for the receipt of locally and federally generated time-sensitive threat information

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 36 months of experience conducting research and writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical, and/or statistical research techniques
  • Or completion of an undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs, or a related field, with 12 months of experience conducting research and writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical, and/or statistical research techniques
