Paralegal for Medical Law

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Clinical Negligence team in Manchester. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for assisting our Solicitors with various tasks and contributing to the successful management of our cases.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Take new enquiries, prepare detailed notes on facts, research issues where necessary, and liaise with the team regarding case progression.
  2. Coordinate initial client sign-up and obtain medical mandates.
  3. Demonstrate a confident telephone manner, self-motivate, and effectively manage your workload.
  4. Use initiative and maintain awareness of overall task/outcome.
  5. Manage relationships with external parties regarding disclosure.
  6. Conduct research using internal and external resources.
  7. Provide assistance to Clinical Negligence Solicitors on their caseloads with a range of tasks.
  8. Meet court deadlines.
  9. Aid in file organization.
  10. Draft letters and Court documents.
  11. Liaise with Counsel and Medical experts.
  12. Attend conferences, client visits, and hearings, and take accurate notes.
  13. Review extensive documents, including medical records, and draft Chronology.
  14. Manage diaries and spreadsheets.
  15. Utilize our in-house case management system.
  16. Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure a smooth workflow.
  17. Handle sensitive information confidentially, adhering to GDPR guidelines.
  18. Undertake administrative tasks as required to support the department.
  19. Stay aware of Civil Procedure Rules and their application.

Requirements:

  • 1 year Paralegal experience (desired).
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • Strong interest in medical law.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time position.
  • 8 hour shift.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • £24,000 per annum.
