IT Support Assistant Role

Kirklees Council is seeking a highly motivated and organised IT Support Assistant to join their team. As an IT Support Assistant, you will provide critical support to the council's IT infrastructure and play a key role in achieving your Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship.

This role requires a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and a willingness to learn and develop your skills in ICT. You will work closely with the council's expert training team to achieve your qualification.

Responsibilities:
  • ICT Classroom Upkeep: Maintain the general upkeep of ICT classrooms, including peripherals, monitors, and PCs.
  • Microsoft 365 Environment Administration: Assist with the administration and maintenance of the council's Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Teams and SharePoint Support: Provide technical support for the use of Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint within different subject areas.
  • Cashless Catering System Registration: Assist with the registration of new biometric accounts and provide ongoing support for the cashless catering system.
  • Subject-Specific Software Installation: Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of subject-specific software (e.g., Google SketchUp, Photoshop, Cubase, TechSoft).
  • Software Updates: Ensure all software on school devices is up to date with the latest, tested version.
  • User Account Management: Assist with the management of user accounts in Active Directory.
  • Office 365 Account Management: Assist with the management of Office 365 accounts and distribution groups.
