Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Packaging Strategy: Define and implement the Group and ISS packaging strategy, anticipating customer and consumer trends.
  • Align Priorities with Business Requirements: Align priorities to support changes in UK packaging legislation, waste management infrastructure, and business requirements.
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Build and manage strategic relationships with packaging suppliers and waste management handlers.
  • Lead Packaging Development Process: Lead the packaging development process from customer brief to production trialling and launch.
  • Collaborate with Customers: Collaborate with ISS customers and retailer packaging teams to accelerate innovation.
  • Manage Supplier Relationships: Manage the packaging supplier and material specification approval processes, ensuring compliance with food safety, ethical, and environmental standards.
  • Track and Report on Impact: Track and report on the impact of packaging development on production, cost, recyclability, and carbon emissions.
  • Improve Packaging Processes: Identify and implement improvements in existing packaging processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience in Food Packaging: Minimum of 5 years' experience in food packaging development.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record of bringing packaging innovations to market.
  • Recent Experience with Major Retailers: Recent experience working with major food retailers.

Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
