About the Role

As a Data Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in building data pipelines, transforming data for easy analysis, and ensuring quality data is accessible to stakeholders across the business. Your work will drive data-driven decision-making, optimise product performance, and contribute to a data culture within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Optimize Data Models: Utilize tools like DBT (Data Build Tool) to design and maintain complex data models that cater to analytical use cases and provide a single source of truth for critical business metrics.
  • ETL Pipeline Development: Leverage Apache Airflow to build robust ETL pipelines, orchestrating and automating data workflows to ensure consistent and reliable data.
  • Data Governance: Implement data governance best practices, ensuring data is well-documented, tested, and compliant with data privacy regulations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with data scientists, product managers, and business analysts to understand data needs, answer key questions, and implement data-driven solutions.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience: 3+ years as a Data Strategist or similar role in a fast-growth startup environment, preferably within the FinTech industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, DBT, and Airflow, with experience in cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Dimensional Modelling: A deep understanding of Kimball dimensional modelling methodologies and experience in building data models that support analytical use cases.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business questions into data solutions and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
