About the Job

We are recruiting for a Civic Amenity Site Coordinator to work in Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in managing recycling centres and reuse shops to join our team.

Main Responsibilities
  • To manage the day-to-day operations of multiple recycling centres and reuse shops.
  • To ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, including Environmental and Health & Safety requirements.
  • To develop and implement strategies to improve customer service, recycling performance, waste reduction, and reuse.
  • To work closely with contractors to ensure continuous service delivery.
  • To manage a team of staff and provide guidance on Health and Safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Leadership and management skills with experience in managing front-line staff.
  • Experience managing Health and Safety, preferably backed by a relevant qualification.
  • Proven ability to improve services by managing a team effectively.
  • The ability to interact with the public and communicate policies and legislative restrictions clearly, respecting Hertfordshire's diverse population.
  • Proven experience managing operations similar to recycling centres.
  • Daily access to a vehicle and the ability to travel across the county as required.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Level 4 COTC qualification relevant to managing civic amenity sites (HCC will provide training during probation if not already held).
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience in the waste industry, including legislation and operations.
  • Understanding of working within a political environment.
Salary Range

$35,000 - $48,000 per annum.
