Job Description:

Jonathan Lee Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Powertrain Calibration Engineer to join their team in Coventry. As a Powertrain Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing powertrain calibrations using client toolsets and processes, defining, generating, and managing engine test plans, and planning, executing, and analyzing engine and system simulation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage powertrain calibrations: Using client toolsets and processes, create and implement powertrain calibration solutions.
  • Define and manage engine test plans: Develop, generate, and manage engine test plans to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze engine and system simulation activities: Conduct simulations to optimize powertrain performance and efficiency.
  • Complete system performance assessments: Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to optimize system performance.
  • Review data and root cause analysis: Identify powertrain system issues and develop solutions for resolution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree: In a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent understanding: Of diesel internal combustion engine operation and performance.
  • Knowledge of ancillary systems: Air path, exhaust aftertreatment technologies, control, and other related systems.
  • Understanding of vehicle architecture and control systems: Familiarity with vehicle architecture and control systems.
  • Experience or knowledge: Of vehicle emissions requirements.
  • Good knowledge: Of simulation systems, particularly Matlab SIMULINK.
  • Working knowledge: Of calibration toolsets and engine calibration, including trade-offs for emissions and performance.
  • Excellent analytical skills: Ability to interpret data and results and present results in a clear and understandable format.
  • Strong team player: Good communication and English language skills.
  • Self-starter: Ability to work with other team members at all levels to reach 'win-win' agreements.
  • Strong willingness: To learn and develop.
